Energy Monitoring
Details
Avi-on’s energy monitoring service collects complete data every 15 minutes on every device (see compatible hardware below), including a full record of dimming status and motion sensor triggers. Data is available in real time through the Avi-on energy management portal, where it can be viewed directly or exported in CSV, XLS or PDF format. The same data is also available in real time through the Avi-on Web Services API.
This level of detail gives facility teams the insight needed to track fixture performance, benchmark facility utilization and qualify for DLC 5.0 requirements and utility programs that require measured energy data. Because every device reports on a 15-minute interval, consumption trends are visible at the fixture level rather than estimated from circuit totals, making it straightforward to identify underperforming zones, verify schedule and dimming compliance and support rebate applications.
Hardware Requirements
Avi-on’s energy monitoring service works with fixture and circuit control hardware capable of measuring energy. Currently, both the Internal Fixture Adapter and the Circuit Controller include energy measurement capability, and an energy monitoring subscription is available for each.
An LTE/Ethernet Bridge is also required to connect the local network to the Avi-on cloud service.
Once connected, and once Avi-on enables the account to collect energy data, data flows to the cloud automatically. No additional configuration or user setup is required.
Subscription Details
Energy monitoring is available through a subscription to the Avi-on Energy Monitoring service. This service is enabled by your Avi-on commissioning team and requires no configuration beyond using Avi-on or Avi-on-certified energy-monitoring-capable fixture controllers. Avi-on supports annual subscriptions and prepaid five-year subscriptions for the energy monitoring service.
All 15-minute energy data is stored on Avi-on servers for the duration of the subscription. Data is not deleted upon expiration. Users have the option to archive their data if they choose not to renew.
Once enabled, log in to the Energy Management Dashboard at https://analytics.avi-on.com using your regular Avi-on username and password. From there, you can select your location and analyze energy consumption or download reports.

Avi-on Data Export API
and Analytics
Energy and dimming data collected by the Avi-on cloud service can be exported in real time to third-party platforms and applications through the Avi-on Cloud Platform Public API. The Analytics endpoints return historical energy consumption and device event data by location, queryable by device, group, or date range.
For full API documentation, including authentication, device state, and analytics endpoints,
see the Cloud Platform Public API guide (PDF).
Energy Reporting Capabilities:
The energy data cloud dashboard supports reporting and data export in CSV, XLS, and PDF formats.
