The Avi-on Programming Tool (APT) is a plug-and-play Bluetooth® antenna that delivers a stable, continuous connection for the Avi-on Mobile Commissioning App during project startup and commissioning.
Whether working near or far from devices on site, users can maintain reliable communication without interruption. By providing a consistent Bluetooth interface between the app and field devices, the APT helps ensure dependable performance across a variety of mobile phones. The result is a more streamlined commissioning experience with reduced downtime and improved productivity.

Setup & Operation
- Power the APT
- Basic APT: Connect the Avi-on Antenna Dongle to your phone using the provided USB-C to USB-A cable.
- APT with Battery Pack: Connect the Dongle to the battery pack using the cable. Keep the APT within 10 feet of your phone at all times.
- Enable the APT in the App
- Open the Avi-on Mobile Commissioning App and log in.
- Enable “Scan for Dongle Connection” (also accessible later in App Settings).
- Confirm Bluetooth Connection
- Verify the Dongle icon appears in the upper-right corner of the App.
- Commission
- Keep the APT within 10 feet of your phone throughout the commissioning process.
- Leave with the Facilities Manager
- The APT is designed for ongoing use by facilities staff to adjust settings and maintain Avi-on lighting controls after project handoff.
